Great size portions for the price and very fresh. They offer both cooked and raw options. Not fancy, a good place to bring well behaved children.
- Pros: food
- Cons: not open on Sundays, sometimes parking is difficult

my boyfriend and i tried sakura at the recommendation of a friend. what a waste of time and $$. the restaurant's interior resembles a cheap Chinese diner and not a sushi restaurant. the food was priced moderately for the portions received but the rolls consisted of a hodge podge of random ingredients that did not compliment each other well drowning in generous amounts of sauces. after a bite or two every roll tasted the same. they do not offer fresh wasabi and i refilled my own glass of water three times. it took about 2 hours for 3 rolls and i felt like i was sitting in a daycare. this is obviously the family sushi place. don't waste your money.
- Pros: short wait on friday night
- Cons: food service and atmosphere
Best Sushi in the COUNTY
by mitoros at Citysearch
This is simply hands down the best sushi in the entire Memphis area. I only wish they would open a location in Downtown Memphis to show the other losers what good sushi can be like! Alfredo roll and Joyce roll totally rock and all the fish is fresh. I also totally love the squid salad! Please open Downtown!!
- Pros: Tons of great roll and sushi selections
- Cons: Too far from my home to go every night
Best Sushi in Memphis by far with great variety and large portions and very fresh!

Outstanding Sushi and rolls Highly recommended we drive 40 minutes to this fine Japanese eatery at least twice a month! May I suggest the Mango roll(in season),Caterpillar roll and Mardi Gras roll. They have like 40 kinds of rolls and there sushi platter dinner is good too nice thick pieces of fish. Last but least got to try there mermaid salad it's delicious.Everything is very fresh and well made.
- Pros: Average atmosphere not expensive for what you get rolls are huge and delicious
- Cons: trying to find parking at times and not closer to my house or I would go more lol
Best Sushi In Memphis!!!
by jrnl at Citysearch
If you haven't been to Sakura, you must go. It is the best Sushi in the Memphis area. I went to college in Jackson, TN where the original Sakura is located and I ate there all the time. Since graduating and moving to East TN, I have been looking for a sushi resturant that could even compare. Recently moved to Memphis and found out there was a Sakura here and I could not be happier. Again, you must go. Once you have tried this place, no other place can compare. I recommend the Joyce roll and the crawfish roll. Amazing!!!
- Pros: Great sushi, good price, fast service
- Cons: Can be hard to find, look behind the Wendy's on West
Excellent casual Japanese

My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit to Sakura. The Sushu rolls were excellent. The Salmon nigiri was the best that I have ever had in the memphis area.
Service was good. Casual atmosphere. Nothing fancy.
No idea what a previous reviewer was talking about... there are tons of great "upscale" restaurants in the Memphis area. This place is not one of them. But I recommend it as a good choice for Japanese cuisine. Probably some of the better sushi in town.
- Pros: Sushi
- Cons: Atmosphere is boring
Maybe there's hope in Memphis

We have a tough time finding decent and perhaps upscale food (upscale does not mean high price !) food in the Memphis MSA. Memphis just doesn't have much. This place is located in a nice suburb of Germantown, east of the city of Memphis- even Germantown does not have many places besides chain cra*p, but SAKURA is excellent, it has no competition because everybody seems to serve bs food because it gets accepted easily ! this place is a pleasure to visit, owners with great attitudes, great service, and fresh food, what's not to like about that ?
- Pros: good location
- Cons: there's no competition in the neighborhood !

Best sushi in town!!! Joycee roll is to die for. I crave it...that's how good it is. Staff is excellent. They always warn you that it take quite a few minutes to make the Joycee roll. I appreciate their hospitality. I will drive all the way to Germantown every day just for Sakura sushi!!!!
- Pros: value and freshness
- Cons: the drive
Best nigiri and tied for best rolls in Memphis area!

Very good and creative rolls, and the quality (freshness) of the nigiri/sashimi is very good. Prices are very good and the portion sizes are large. Good service. Highly recommended!
Xtreme creative specialty rolls
by mazdapilot at Citysearch
Pacific Rim was my favorite sushi spot until finding Sakura again out in Germantown. Great place for eight+ piece rolls, very reasonably priced. It looks expensive until you realize just how much food you are getting per roll. More specialty rolls than I have seen anywhere else, try the Joyce and Sake rolls...
- Pros: selection, price, service
- Cons: location
