This place was all right. I really wasn't all that impressed with the barbecue there. The sauce was passable, but not what I'm used to. I think the sign said they had won an award, but I really don't know how. It's ok if you're in a hurry and want to pick up a sandwich to go and a tea. If you want some good barbecue, I'd head somewhere else. There's too many good places that are so very close by.

Bar-be-boo!!

I frequently pass through Memphis on my way home to Arkansas. I have passed Tops barbecue in Marion, Ar (I55) for many years saying, "I need to stop and try that!" Well, yesterday I stopped and was disappointed to say the least. The prices were very reasonable and the service was ok but the food was nothing to write home about. The meat on my pulled pork sandwich was tender but basically flavorless. Adding sauce didn't help either. I've had a lot of barbecue in my day and Tops was the absolute worst.

• Pros: Very clean restaurant
• Cons: Very clean restaurant....too clean....didn't smell or look smoky. Bland ambience which translated to the food.

This place is definitely not fancy, but it's right on the mark. I travel all over the country and this is probably one of the VERY best sandwhiches I've ever had. You can't beat the price.
