35.204763 -89.861935The manager at the Bartlett Tn location is Todd. I liked it at first but the customer service started to slack off, the teens that work their dont know anything its a joke.
I have been a member since Aug. 2011 and enjoy the fitness center very much. I have toned and firmed up but started off a ladies size 14 and now I am a size 4. Every one has been very friendly and helpful. Sometimes I go to just tan and they are still very friendly. The whole gym is kept very neat and clean, and has a nice friendly atmosphere. This is the first time I have been able to keep a workout commitment of any kind. I only average once or twice a week now but enjoy it very much.
Poor Customer Service.
ATC Fitness shows and provides a pure example of poor customer service as well as poor business ethics.
- Service is horrible because it seems that most of the employees that work here are young and incompetent when it comes to providing quality service to their clients. ANY health club thrives on personal contact as well as service. I literally have to wait, even when I am the only one at the counter, more than 5 minutes just to be acknowledged so I can be helped or when I would like to tan. When the manager and co-worker stands at the counter with their backs turned to the client and just carry on with their conversations with young girls, it really upsets me and should any other paying client.
- When I thought to myself that I would want to work for this company and provide that customer service; I could show where that is lacking. I went to the Bartlett location to submit an application and my resume and I literally heard and watched 2 other employees make sly remarks about me and saw my resume put in the trash.
- When I spoke to a district manager about the application process he literally told me that applying to certain locations is a big factor because of chemistry between managers and co-workers. To me that literally means that this company DOES NOT comply with Equal Opportunity. If they are going to judge a person or profile a person just submitting a resume.
I have been a member of this gym for over 6 years and loved going there because of the convenience provided. However, due to the above situations I cancelled my membership and switched gyms. I DO NOT recommend ATC to anybody
No Commitment? Yeah right..
The radio commercials and their website claim "no commitment." So why was my husband contacted by a collection agency asking for $32 or they would put a collection on his credit report? Why would a company claiming "no commitment" even need to HIRE a collection agency?
The equipment was good and the location was close to home, but my husband didn't use his membership. He called to cancel, but no...you must come in. He went in multipe times, but the manager was never there and the teenagers working couldn't cancel his membership. When he finally saw the manager, he was talked into putting his account on "hold," which would mean he could start back at any time but not pay the $15 a month until he did. Sounded good right?
Fast forward six months...and a collection agency starts calling. Threatening to put a mark on his credit.
My husband went up there and the young girl working said they tried to charge our debit card for some annual fee (for holding your account in limbo) and it was denied b/c we were issued new cards.
My husband, not wanting to deal with some teenager who obviously doesn't understand what "pre-pay" and "no commitment" mean, went ahead and paid the $32 to get the collection agency off our back.
When he got home, I called and asked to speak to the manager. The SAME GIRL told me the manager was out of town. Funny. When you want to cancel your membership, you have to track down the manager. When they claim you owe them money, anyone who happens to be there can collect and get your account OFFICIALLY canceled.
Will not be doing business with ATC Fitness in the future, and have warned all my friends and family.
Nope - not worth the money.
These people do not want to talk to you about anything unless you are young, slim and cute! It is hard to get anyone to talk to you and forget about them smiling as you come in the door or waving goodbye! They don't want to tell you anything they don't have to tell you. I signed up with a 17 year old daughter and when she got 18 - even though she lived at home and was in school - forget it, Charlie.... we want your money. I ask to speak to someone about my account - no computers are down. Some big guy yesterday was eating pancakes and didn't even smile at me when I told him there needed to be soap in the ladies locker room. Oh, yeah, I always like to dry my hands with a paper towel and use the towel to turn off the water and get a drink from the water fountain .... no more .... now have a huge honking (and I mean loud honking) hand dryer.....
My contract is up soon - moving on......
