I have been going to alpine for several years. Start first with an 325i and now for the past two years I have been bringing in my 740 i. I have gotten for the most part great customer service and good mechanical service. The price for services also has been good. HOWEVER, the last year or so I have not been happy at all and wonder why I keep going back now. Guess I want NOT to believe it will happen again, again and again. I feel like they have used my car to "train" the kids in the shop. I do not mind paying to fix the car- I have spent 8+k with them and i would say I am a model customer. But when I pay to fix a problem i expect the problem to be fixed and not to have to continue to bring the car in only to be told that it is another problem or have them refix it because of poor work. I again have to bring the car in to have them fix work they agree is incorrect by their fault. They have always fixed, refixed in a great manner and timely but- i would rather pay a dealer or someone else to fix the right problem or fix it once the first time. They tell me sorry over and over again but sorry is not getting it anymore for this customer-geez! I will not go back to them again and it hurts me to say that. UPDATE: today [08.05.08] i returned to alpine to have my oil changed- i thought for sure they could not screw that up. i know- i said i would not go back...but i was wrong. even though i had spoken numerous times to the staff, letting them know that i was disappointed and frustrated, i was wrong for not letting the owner, john, know directly. However, I think that he would agree that he also shares in the responsiblity to know his custumors. also today, i had them look at the part that i felt they had improperly installed. ironically -turns out i broke it [guess i ran over something in the road] just days after they installed it. this time the "sorry" is on me. I am happy to say i will be going back and i am sure i will be getting the red carpet service now.

There are only a few to trust your BMW with and you can forget about the others once you've done business with Alpine. BMW's are expensive to maintain but at Alpine at least you can be sure you really need what they are you telling you you do. Can't say that for the others.
