Authentic Mexican food is the specialty at the restaurant that offers south of the border favorites including fajitas and enchiladas.

Best Mexican north of the Rio Grande

I absolutely love this restaurant. It is without a doubt my favorite restaurant of any kind in Memphis, not just Mexican. I tell anyone who will listen about Guadalupana every chance I get. The food is excellent, the prices are very good, and the ambiance is exactly what I'm looking for. It is certainly not fancy or romantic - it does feel like a cafeteria just as someone else here noted - but if I turn my back to the front door I get the feeling that I'm in Latin America and far far away from Memphis. If you like great Mexican food and aren't afraid of eating at a place some might consider to be a 'dive', Guadalupana won't disappoint.

Best Mexican Food in Memphis

I've been to just about every Mexican restaurant in metro Memphis. This is the best one. It is truly authentic "mom and pop" Mexican. The prices are very low alos. You can't beat it for authenticity and value. The place is large (yes, it looks like a cafeteria) and seating is always immediate.

Seriously, THE best Mexican in town!!

Though La Guadalupana has the ambiance equivalent to that of a high school caffeteria, and though you may also not be able to get a margarita here, what you WILL find is some of the most amazing, authentic Mexican food around. This place is an absolute gem. Go in for lunch or grab some takeout for dinner, you won't be disappointed.
