Excellent and better in new location. Ruth's Chris Steak House moved about a year ago to a more prominent location and the layout of the restaruant is much better. The bartender says they are doing twice the bar business. The martini's are top-notch.

However, the food is the main attraction, and I'm sure it is consistent with the rest of the chain. The steaks are one of three steakhouses that actually serve "prime" (the others are Butcher Shoppe and Folk's Folly) from what I understand and it is rare to find prime cuts (ie: Lonestar and Outback serve choice). Most know about the steaks but try the lobster bisque and in the summer and early fall try the broiled tomatoes. Excellent.

The service is always very professional and the ambiance is traditional upscale steakhouse with rich cherrywood. I would not necessarily call it "romantic" but it is cosy.

THE place for steak. I would not consider any other resturant in Memphis for an excellent steak dinner. The food is always cooked to perfection, the atmosphere is polished, and the service is great. While once we had to wait for our table, the management made it up with free drinks. Can't beat that!

Snobby Servers. The best food in the world cannot make a restaurant visit a superior experience if the servers are rude. My party are all college-educated, polite people who have been going out together for over 20 years. We tip well above average, acknowledge that service is sometimes slow through no one's fault, etc. Many of us are former waitresses and bartenders. But when we asked questions at Ruth's Chris about wine and cuts of meat the servers could not have been more rude. Their answers were intended to embarass not inform and they knew very little about wine and less about meat. But it seems they teach their servers that the best defense is a good offense here. At least , they were certainly very offensive servers. We will never return to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. One can obtain the same type of experience at the local bank teller window.

All hype, no cattle.... My experience one afternoon was fair, but when I had to break the 2nd $100 bill, I knew I had made a poor choice. Food, atmosphere, would have been satisfactory had it been priced like Lone Star. But it is priced as if you were dining on the moon. Never go back.

Best Steak and Service. This is some of the best eats in Memphis. As long as you can afford it. They mean $$$$ but you really really get what you pay for here. If you want to complain about it being a la carte then you can't afford to eat here. You should go to outback.

YUM_YUM. I've been to Ruth's Chris Steak House several times over the past two years and I have ALWAYS gotten excellent service. Once, my date spoke to our waiter in Italian and he actually answered back. The service is great but the food is even better. (HINT....Porterhouse) Pricey but worth it. I can only think of one negative to list - the tables are too close together. You may not want discuss anything too intimate over dinner.

Best in town. Would convert a vegitarian. Ruth Chris is the tops steak house in Memphis. Excellent food, good service and a more eclectic crowd than Folks Folly.

Although this is expensive, the food is far superior to Folks. It is an excellent place to go for the personal special occasion as well as a good place to entertain customers.

WOW!!!. AWESOMELY good food.... incredible atmosphere. Yes the price is ridiculous, but one of the places where i can spend that much money on a meal and not feel cheated.

Great steak. The food is very good and is consistent at Ruth's. The service used to be much better than it is now, though. With the new General Manager came a young, inexperienced wait staff. The last G.M. was very professional and made you feel special; as did the staff. I hope when the restaurant moves in October they get new management and wait staff.
