slacking. i have gone to formasa resturant since it was out on summer ave. 27 yrs i have been going. I had to start using the quince location once summer finally closed their doors. nancy always made sure my order was correct and the summer store was always consistant in preperation of the food. quince however seems to have another thing going on, your food is based on who is cooking and many times to go orders are missing something and the food is just not right. I dont know what is going on with the resturant. I has been so reliable over decades and i am sad i question whether to eat there again. An the families new generation of Mosa bistros i am not fond of so much. Price higher and more noodle dishes.

with that said i am calling in an order tonight since i have a spouse who had a root canal and really wants formosa egg drop soup :-) FORMOSA, GET BACK ON TRACK OR JUST CLOSE THE DOORS.

The BEST Chinese food in Memphis. This has long been my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Memphis area by far.

The service is always friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely wonderful, and if you like hot and sour soup, it is the best you will ever have.

Great Chinese Food.... I went here with my wife and we both really like this place. The dishes during dinner time can run $10-$13 each. Both times we have gone have been during dinner hours. By the way, call and see if they are open before you go because I think they are closed Mondays and closed daily between lunch and dinner. They have a really good lunch special which will run about $6 for entree, soup, eggroll, etc.

Overall, the food was great, but I thought the service could be better.

FORMOSA RULES!. this is the best restaurant in the city of Memphis! The Wait Staff is sooo great! SOOO good me and my dad go every week!

A clean setting, easy service and a can't-miss menu make this one of the best Chinese restaurants in town.. The Scene


The walls are papered with Chinese calligraphy and pastoral scenes. Red lanterns hang from the ceiling. The simple window-walled building fills with soft light during the day and retains a warm, cozy atmosphere after sundown. An efficient staff, dressed in formal black and whites, is very accommodating.



The Food


The large menu features scrumptious selections for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Crisp vegetable soup is perfect with fresh veggies suspended in a clear, salty broth. Seafood specialties are fresh, like the seared orange roughy and shiitake mushrooms bathed in orange-ginger sauce, and pan-fried red snapper served on a bed of broccoli. Tasty cashew chicken and crispy Formosa duck are popular favorites. Most dishes come with a generous steamer of white rice. End with fresh orange slices and, of course, fortune cookies.

THE Best Chinese Food !. I have been eating at Formosa since 1992 and I will have to say it is the best Chinese food i have ever eaten in Memphis. I havn't even been able to beat there food anywhere else in the states.Highly recommend the chicken dishes as well as any of there hot and spicy dishes.Enjoy and you will be back.
