DONT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!!! This is the worst heating and a/c company in the entire mid-south. They are nothing but crooks out to take more of your money than any other company just to make sure they can make payroll. Coming from an insider that used to work here, this company is nothing but a sham. They treat their technicians like crap, work them 20-24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no holidays, no family time. They don't even let their employees take off to go to a dr appt. The worst part about using this company is the prices. Example they charge 484.07 for a cheap capacitor. The owner works in the field and goes by "Jim" but his real name is James Donald Hibner aka Don who is also a convicted felon. The office workers are just as bad. The "accountant" named Michelle is just as bad as Don or "Jim". She will run your credit card and charge more than what you agreed to pay because they need to make payroll. Michelle doesn't know what she is doing and she is Don's twin except she is a "woman" and she is a lot fatter than Don. You will know it when you talk to her because she doesn't know anything about customer service. She is rude and snippy with all the customers and she doesn't take no for an answer when it comes to that company. This company also lets Freon go into the air which is ILLEGAL and that have multiple complaints with the labor board and 17 complaints with the BBB. This company does everything ILLEGAL, they claim that they are an honest company but they are the furthest thing from honest. Call anybody except these crooks! Conway, Greenway, ANYBODY BUT HIBNER!!!!! I have a copy of their price sheet and they make a 300% profit from their customers because of their high outrageous prices! Don or Jim is also known for steeling technicians tools. Once a technician puts in his 2 weeks notice (Don demands a 4 week notice) he will go in their van that is at their HOUSE and take their tools and equipment so they cant leave the company because nobody wants to work there!!!! There are several techs that will tell you they have had their tools stolen right out of the van that was sitting in their driveway. After he steels your tools he makes up fake invoices and says that you owe him thousands of dollars and you cant have your tools that you bought with your own money until you pay him the money that you "owe" him. POINT BLANK......DOBT USE THIS COMAPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!! THEY WILL CHEAT YOU!!!!
How in the world can a company charge almost $700 to replace some AA batteries & AC filter, hose off a unit and replace a $20 capacitor???? Luckily, we asked them to leave before they could rip us all the way off, but it still cost $160 just for the first 3 things - which is still completely insane. What a bunch of unethical crooks!!!! The technicians we polite enough but hopefully will go to another more honest company and this place will close down like it needs to. Shame on you Hibner!
Highly Recommend!!! I have found these sites are pretty typical for people who are complainers, we rarely praise companys for excellent service. However, I have made it my mission to praise businesses who do a great job and Hibner is one of those businesses. I live in an older part of Memphis, and when my boiler went out, I was insane with worrying about the cost to replace it. Mr. Hibner and his technicians were extremely courteous and to my surprise did what needed to be done to repair my boiler instead of trying to make me pay to replace everything! The two other companies I had spoken with had told me that is what must be done. Thanks Hibner Heating and Air. You will be my first call going forward.

Our contractor hired Hibner after our devastating house fire. There was a simple reconnect and a cleaning of our boiler. We were told our portion would have been $300. Before the technicians left, they insisted they had to have a credit card number. We were told "they would never run it". We trusted that it was a formality and since our contractor wasn't there, we gave it to them.
The billing lady called all of the time with different amounts for US to pay. She would tell us $300, then $750, and then finally $750 was the contractor's portion she wanted us to pay the rest. The actual bill was over $2500! She was terrible and was reluctant to work with the contractor, who had originally hired them.
We told her we would pay our portion and let her know we had a tax refund coming in. She waited and ran our credit card for THE ENTIRE AMOUNT!!!!!!!
We called over and over and argued. She said there would be a refund and gave us the run around about manager's approval and meetings. Meanwhile, this OVERDREW OUR ACCOUNT and left me stranded out of town. I almost missed my daughter's birthday!

This was by far the worst experience I've had. My bank, VISA and the BBB were all in agreement that this was completely unethical. We are currently waiting on the "legal" outcomes, because we did give our number. I feel completely tricked. We made it very clear that we were not responsible for the work. Our contractor paid all of the other subs out with no issues.
If they would do this to a family who lost everything in a fire, why wouldn't they do this to you?
BEST SERVICE EVER!!!!. My expierence with Hibner was awesome. The technican was extremely helpful and curtious. I called and they were out to my house within 2 hours! I recommend Hibner to anybody that ask for a great A/C company!
I tell all my clients and anyone who asks for a referral to call anyone but Hibner....
I paid double what I should have to have my mother's A/C capicator replaced. Hibner not only double charged me but then refused to return any phone calls to discuss. It was not until I got VISA and the BBB involved did I get any sort of response. And no, it did not satisfy my complaint of overcharging and price gauging. I paid over $500 for this $20 part and less than 5 minutes of repair time. I called other reputable HVAC companies who comfirmed this should have been no more than a $200-300 repair. Shame on you Hiber for taking advantage of people.
Biggest crooks in Town. Hibner heating and air gives weekly meeting on how to rip people off. They charge 3 to 4 times more than any company out there, thi sis coming for an insider in the compnay. Run don't walk to another company!!!! and Please don't sign up for their DCC program it is just a way to get back into your home and rip you off 2 times a year
A/C price gouging during summer months. i will explain thoroughly asap, suffice to say - buyer beware and you'd be better off finding another service. . .
Thieves. Invoice # 35729: Technician named Troy totally ripped me off. Troy charged me $535.17 to wash my outside condenser unit and "top off" my coolant, AND IT DIDN'T FIX MY A/C!!! Then he wanted $400.00 more to clean the evaporator - I declined. Later I found out that other local A/C repair shops charged around $100 to wash the condenser and $30 per pound of coolant, so I was very upset! I called the Hibner office, but the female office manager was very defensive, would not lower the bill, and would not let me speak to the owners Don or James Hibner. Don't get ripped off! AVOID HIBNER HEATING & A/C LIKE THE PLAGUE!
