No Saigon.
I was very disappointed in the lack of taste as well as the poor service. The lo mien was bland- NO flavor whatsoever. The environment reflects the flavorless lo mien.

Good Pho.
I used to live in the Vietnamese area of Houston, so I have had more than my share of noodles from Pho houses. The truth of the matter is its not a very complicated food. Obviously some of the other Vietnamese Dishes are a little more complicated and can be vastly different, and honestly I believe that the vermicelli dishes are only as good as the fish sauce served with it. But for Pho its really on exists in two forms. Good and bad. Pho Saigon is good. It was very tasty, good portions, and very affordable. The decor is not that great, but honestly, its about exactly like the 30 or 40 other Pho houses I have eaten in. If you like Pho, you will enjoy eating here, if you don't like it, then you won't like eating here, that is about as simply as I can put it. The one oddity is that the serve it with lemon slices and not lime wedges, but eh, that's not such a big deal for me. On a truly odd not, they have durian on the menu, and I have only ever seen a handful of places anywhere that serve that. For those of you that know there is a show called Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, and durian is his absolute nemesis. He describes it as the most horrible thing he has tried and similar to eating mushy fetid onions. So if you are one who wants to test the boundaries of odd foods and you want to test your limits then perhaps a durian shake is just the ticket for you.

Authentic and fresh.
I eat here a lot, I like it because the vegetables are almost always fresh and crisp. Curry and noodles are always good. The ambience is lacking but if you sit next to the fish tank it's actually really pretty and private. Staff is friendly to regulars.

Stay away.
When we entered the place, the woman inside did not even acknowledge our presence. She took the menu and without ever looking at us went to a table and threw it there. Then slammed the chair inside the table and went away. She was literally scowling. This is the kind of service we got. But hey, who knows, maybe it was just ...... I don't know. I do not care. I am not going there ever again.

Favorite Vietnamese in town.
Very reasonably priced. Great vegetarian options (tofu is fabulous). Great soups, noodle-bowls, and appetizers. Even my Grandmother (who NEVER eats anything but plain American food) LOVES THIS PLACE!!!
