A Very Disappointing Experience

This company presented instruments for sale at my childs school. The Amro sales person and school music teacher said we should not buy our instruments online or at Sams Club because they were no good and would be a waste of money. As a parent, I felt pressured to buy an instrument from Amro that evening, by them and by the school music teacher. Amro did not bring enough instruments to choose from which created a panic when the time came to look at the selections. Most of the selection were new expensive instruments. The used instruments that were available, were very overpriced. Although, I did not know this at the time. I reluctantly entered into a purchase agreement. There is a clause in the agreement that states you must keep the arrangements for at least 4 months. Now, I understand why that is. I found out later that you CAN purchase a quality instrument online and for a quarter of the price. After I pay 4 months of the agreement and factor in the down payment I made, I would have been able to purchase 2 nice instruments online. I feel very disappointed and taken advantage of. I also had a bad experience with the staff that I communicated with during a phone call to the Amro store. All of them, except one lady in the credit department, were attitude filled, rude and did not care to actually help me with my issue. One man actually heckled me during our conversation, refused to transfer me to the department I requested, and then laughed loudly in my ear when I pleaded with him to simply transfer the call to the requested department. He then placed me on an "eternal hold", which I eventually hung up the phone from. If you intend on buying an instrument for your child, I suggest you do some homework on the company and price checking on the instrument. Do not let your school or this music company push you into a contract the same evening. I only wish I knew this information then. If I had, I would have saved several hundred dollars and a headache!
