Delicious Food and Great Fun. The ribs are so tender there is no need for knife, fork or any other utensil unless you are attempting to impress someone at your table. These are to be eaten and not inhaled as I did. Truly delightful and delicious. Will return for more and bring friends.

Coldest Beer, Best Wings and Delicious Burgers for over 55 years...A Memphis Institution..Dont Miss It !!!. Discovered this Jewel one Saturday looking for a place to watch college football, what I found was

THE BEST PLACE EVER TO WATCH A BALLGAME

1. Coldest (non frozen) beer in Town

2. Easily the best Hot Wings EVER - crispy & just enough spice-- no slimy chicken skin here, no nasty greasy breading either

3. Cheeseburgers - Off the Chart Delicious

4. No wine snobs here, Most friendly place you'll go

Perfect Gentleman!. Met rocky on a cruise in 1983. Found my way to Alex's tavern on the arm of a perfect gentleman! He treated his friends and customers with care and respect. Service with a smile 24/7! If ever I'm in Memphis, I will surely return for a burger and a smile. Seeing Sonny again would truly be a bonus!

No other Bar / Resturant in Memphis can match this place, yea its in a so-so area but who cares !! Rocky will take care of you.. No other bar in the southeast will be able to match the atmosphere of this great place. The owner "Rocky" is a singular individual and will treat you like family. This place has been here for over 50 years and like a fine wine has aged with style and only gets better with time. They have the best burgers in towns, and the wings are matchless. Come once and you will be back. Also, without a doubt the coldest beer in town.

the COLDEST beer in town. Arguably the best place to chill and hang out in the Memphis area. The coldest beer in town, great burgers, friendly service, unique atmosphere. As far as I know the place has not been changed since it was opened more than 50 years ago!

Hole in the Wall. Best neighborhood bar in town...Best burger,Best wings, Best owner (Rocky)...If your in Memphis, be sure to go check out Alex's..It's n ot in the best part of town, but it's worth the trip...Park on the street in the back..Use the back door----DO NOT ask for a menu,,,burgers,wings,tenders,and beer is all you need to know.....

what a cool place!. rocky and sonny are great hosts! the atmosphere takes me back years! my son rates the burgers "A1"! and the folks you meet here are friendly! great juke boxes, too!
