Continually downhill!.
Everytime we dine at Coletta's, the food seems to be worse. Not bad at all, especially the Southern Italian basics and pizza. But small things, like the ravioli seeming to not being heated all the way through and the Seafood Scampi at a hefty $18.99 with a scant amount of seafood and smelly quite fishy, I might add do influence my choice of dining spots. My comments would be to the owners to make sure everything is hot and seafood is only served at its PEAK of freshness! I would've sent the scampi back but I was with a friend and time was somewhat limited and the friend was treating me.

Terrible service and food....
I've lived in Memphis my entire life and I have never understood why anyone would choose to eat at this restaurant. The service is horrible and the food is greasy and tastes stale and as if it came right out of a freezer and/or a jar. There are so many more fresh, tasty and healthy choices in Memphis from which to select. Don't waste your time and money on a place with lousy food and some of the worst service you will ever encounter.

The best real pizza, hands up!.
I am a little biased, as I have been eating these pizzas for over 35 years, and they are the best ever. I grew up right around the corner from the Parkway location, so my granny went there ever Friday, we couldn't wait. The cheese is so----- good, and the crust is perfect, sometimes, its a bit much to eat more than two pieces, its not Pizza Hut, it has real big hunks of meat and vegetables, and a great sauce. If you are adventurous try the around the world, to die for if you like a little spice in your life, if you are a little tame try the pepperoni or the sausage, both a little greasy, but a lot of tasty.

over-rated.
Food was over-priced and the ambiance was lacking. The foods my husband and I tried tasted canned/frozen/over-processed.

How about, It Sucked!.
I am new to the Memphis area via Atlantic City and Baltimore and have begun my search for good italian food and Coletta's simply falls short...way short in my opinion. The tomato sauce tasted like it came out of a jar and the sausage was typical as well. The menu is devoid of any veal dishes save a pre-made frozen veal cutlet (parts is parts) and the filet mignon my wife received had obviously been frozen as well...bad ordering on her part. The menu prices are reasonable, but this is a case where you get what you pay for.

Editorial Review.
This local favorite has cooked up barbecued pies since the '50s when a certain King ordered them frequently.

I grew up in Memphis and have lived all over the country but never been able to find pizza anywhere to hold a candle to Coletta's. I remember the location on Summer Ave. and the one on Winchester as well as eating at the one that is on Appling. After visiting these locations over the years it made me realize that nothing could compete with the original location on Parkway. When I go home to visit relatives who live within walking distance to the Appling Rd. location I still drive across town to the original for better food. I live in Atlanta now and after travelling all over the country have never been able to find any place that could make sausage to compete with Coletta's. The BBQ is one of those things that will never be matched by anyone.

Lasagna lovers dream!.
I recommend visiting the original Coletta's on Parkway versus the newer locations. Has tons of character. Order the lasagna. It is the best I have ever eaten. Other menu items are so-so.

A Memphis Thange.
The food is good and the price is right. There are better pizzas to be had in Memphis, but the Bar B Q Pizza is good. Coletta's is a ol' time Memphis landmark.
