Touring bands and local faves play at this perpetually packed bar..
The Scene
The location across from Overton Park and adjacent to the Memphis College of Art's auxiliary gallery space makes this bar easily accessible to scads of music-hungry fans. A couple of different rooms--one big for music, one for pool and a quieter back lounge--fill any night of the week. During performances, the small club gets hot, sweaty and loud.
The Draw
Whether it's the Meat Puppets, Jonathan Richman or the latest honky-tonk act from Texas, this is one of the best places in town to hear music. Bartenders dole out a full range of cocktails and beers. The martinis are especially popular.

New Owners Same Charm.
I guess the New owners aren't new anymore. Anyway, the place is cleaner has more food for the early crowd....and more AC for those of us who don't like to smell.
It's a shame you can't get a Lone Star Beer there anymore. I would like to see that return.
This is still my favorite place to see music in Memphis. Rumor has it Elvis used to practice Karate there in the 70's.
