Editorial Review for Lamplighter – by Scott McWaters

The Scene
This bar is nothing fancy, but it's calm and friendly, and there are plenty of good tunes in the jukebox. Service is amiable but slow; if you're in a rush, this isn't the place to come. A strictly enforced no-cussing policy keeps patrons on their best behavior.

The Booze
Drinking is simple at the Lamplighter. Budweiser and Olympia are on tap and come served in frozen mugs. There is also a small selection of domestic bottles, but there is no hard liquor.

While You're There
There is one pool table and a jukebox stocked with all sorts of rock and roll classics.

been in some movies ,locals, and ya got the drinks, need we say more. It tends to cater to the midtown and artsy crowd ...has some nice talent everynow n then. You never know who you will run into.

Pros: It's the Lamplighter...what more can I say

Cons: you stay longer than you plan

shirley is the beer goddess---serving only pabst blue ribbon and a couple of other domestics, along with wonderful burgers and grilled cheese, this is the place to go to wind down and take a load off, without spending your life savings for a beer. the lamplighter has an unbelievable life of its own, filled with characters no novelist could imagine. its a place to join in the conversation, or just sit and watch--either way, you'll be glad you went, if only for a moment. and if jack's feet do happen to be in your way-step on them and tell him darcy told you to.

Pros: cheep beer, great people, cheep music/pool

Cons: cheep beer=drunk, a tad smokey
