Fantastic BBQ sandwiches. This is my go-to BBQ place when nothing but the best chopped pork sandwich will do. I haven't tried anything else because that's what I want when I go there. The person who slammed it either doesn't know what they're talking about or simply had a rare bad experience. The fact that he/she didn't like the sauce makes me suspect it's the former. I've lived in Memphis 30+ years and have never had better sauce anywhere. We took my cousin from Newcastle, England there and he's dying to go back, so it isn't just me.

Dreams of Dancing Pigs. I'm a Memphis native who has relocated to central Florida. Some nights I dream of Bar-B-Q. Most of my dreams revolve Frank and families Bar-B-Q Shop Restaurant.

An admitted Bar-B-Q snob, the Bar-B-Que Shop is my favorite, although even a Tops' bar-b-q would taste like heaven now. I wish I could find Dancing Pigs rub and sauce here.

Don't waste your time OR MONEY!!!. My family and I came to Memphis for a couple of days and had to see what the city had to offer in the bbq department. The locals gave us several suggestions so we chose the bbq shop.

OMG! where do I start? First off, in order to have good bbq, the sauce MUST BE superb. Well the sauce totally sucks!! I can tell the ribs were not properly prepped, not marinaded at all. I should have know something when I barely SMELLED bbq smoke in the air (*:*) wow! and the sides...well, the bbq spaghetti must have been made with stale pasta, the slaw was not unique in taste (worse than captn d's slaw) and to top it off the waitress tells us they ran out of texas toast. HUH? are you serious?? Geez Louise. However, the best thing we had was the water w/ Lemon :) I'm so glad I know real bbq because this place by far is not it!

FYI CHECK OUT SAW'S bbq in HOMEWOOD, ALABAMA IF YOU WANT SOME TOP NOTCH BBQ, AWESOME SIDES, AND reasonable priced!!

Best BBQ, Hands down. I've grown up in Memphis and if you've ever spent any time with a Memphis native, you'll know that we are BBQ snobs! The BBQ shop is the ONLY BBQ restaurant that I will go to! It's amazing and it's locally owned!

The Best Ribs Ever. The ribs and pulled pork were the best I have ever had. I also tried Corky's, Corky's does not match up to the ribs here. The Pie was awesome too.

converted. I am a native North Carolinian, and really like barbecued pig. I have eaten barbecue all over the state of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georga, and Virginia. I was curious to see what Memphis could add to this culinary delight, so on my way through that city, I stopped at a local C store and asked three people where the best barbecue in town was. Two people reccommended the Bar b q Shop, so that's where I went.

Am I glad that was the place i chose! I had a combination platter because I wanted to taste as many different varietys of the stuff as I could. Everything was excellent, but the dried ribs were just to die for. Memphis and the Bar b q Shop will always have a fond place in my heart, and tastebuds. This is the best barbecue I have EVER eaten!

Eat here. I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Best Bar-B-Q in the World!. I adore the Bar-B-Q Shop. I moved to Memphis a year ago, and this was one of the first places I went for Bar-B-Q. After trying a few other places, I decided, "Why waste my time anyplace else?!" Eric is the son part of the father/son team, and he's such a sweet guy. I've run into him in the grocery store and at The Blue Plate, and he always stops to say hello. This was the first place I tried Bar-B-Q Spaghetti. Sounds crazy, but it's amazing. In fact, I'm drooling just sitting here thinking about the place. I have to go call in a pick-up order RIGHT NOW!!!

User review by jeannamus. I am a native Memphian living in Europe, and I can tell you that this is the very first place I eat whenever I come home! It outshines the better known places among the locals, so if you want a real taste of Memphis Barbecue, this is your best bet. The ribs are absolutely to die for... order them dry, and choose your sauce (Hot or Mild)! The meat is well seasoned, and so tender that it literally will fall off the bone. While living in south Georgia near my brother and his wife, also Memphis natives, it was a rule that when one of us made it home, we had to bring back a cooler full for the others! MMM!!!
