Memphis >Memphis Pizza Cafe
Great service in Gtown. There is a group of us that eat at the Germantown location on Sat. nights. We typically do not have to wait too long dependeing on how many of us come along. We had 13 this past Sat, and I wanted to say what a pleasant experience it was. The staff was awesome. I had called ahead because of the large party and they were helpful with suggestions. Our Server was precious. She was quick to attend to us, she was very nice and polite and the food came out quick. I often eat lunch at the Midtown location and have never had "rude" experience, but maybe not as effecint as the Gtown staff. I have always like the food. Love the menu...Favorite is the Alternative slice with the Hawian salad. My husband loves the Calzones.
I've just recently moved to Memphis...and I had high hopes for MPC. I had heard great things. I really like the atmosphere...the beer is cold...but other than that, the food is nothing special. I think overall the crust/sauce is pretty bland and I have not been very impressed yet with any of the toppings.
We've been twice. The first time the waitress forgot to put our order in and we waited on our food for about an hour. She was too scared to tell us so she had another waiter come tell us the pizza pie was free and from then on she ignored us and had him take care of our table. The second time, we went for lunch I just felt the staff was very rude. I understand maybe that's a part of the place's vibe. I moved here from Nashville and our favorite coffee house is kind of the same way. However, the food isn't that great so there aren't too many reasons for us to go back! Aside from the fact that maybe there isn't any better pizza places in the Memphis area.
User review by strawberrysh. The Bar-B-Q chicken pizza rocks! My husband and I can both eat for under $10. The best pizza in Memphis!
Best Pizza Bar None.
Memphis Pazza Cafe is the best pizza in Memphis, having gorwn up in the North End of Boston, trying to find good pizza in Memphis was a joke, Milanos... garbage compared to Pizza Cafe. The alternative Pizza is fabulous and the calzones are trus italian calzones, lots of cheese and stuffed with what ever you want!!!!
We go there at least once a week!!!!!!
Very Good Pizza. The pizza is very good. The service can be a bit lazy sometimes. The atmosphere is very midtown. My only warning is this: Bring a jacket because the place is freezing.
GREAT PIZZA!!. Here's the thing about Memphis Pizza Cafe- it's geared more toward the younger crowd and those young at heart. It's not a romantic sit-down dinner. It's not a place to bring a date if you want the complete romance book fairy-tale ending. But the food is AWESOME. It's an excellent place for large groups. This place is not trying and has never tried to be 4 star restaurant. They do pizza, and they do it well. Before you criticize the place maybe you should remind yourself that you went out for some unique, really good, but affordable pizza. If you want all the fluff then go somewhere else and pay extra for it.
MPC is the Best Pizza. If you like a thin crust style of pizza, you'll love MPC. This is not a chain restaurant, so the quality varies on occasion, but the thin crust, sauce, cheese and great toppings always bring me back. The ambience is mid-town, the service is OK, the prices are reasonable. The Greek salad is also great and the beer is always cold. Personally, I can't stand Papa Johns style of pizza, so I love MPC. Pizza preferences vary, but for an original tasting pizza, I recommend MPC.
A super-thin crust supports heaps of toppings at this favorite neighborhood pizzeria..
Overton Square is a choice spot for this pizza cafe; Memphis boasts a high ceiling and room enough to accommodate a gang of friends. Booths, tables and barstools are positioned around the room with a jukebox playing everything from Motown to modern rock. Bring your spare change: A dollar buys you three songs.
With a tower of toppings to choose from, it's easy to tailor a pie to fit your taste. The 27 toppings range from sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts to meaty favorites like pepperoni, Canadian bacon and Italian sausage. The Blackened Chicken Pizza with mozzarella, cheddar, green peppers and mushrooms is a crowd-pleaser. The Vegetable Supreme is packed with tons of vegetables (your mother will be thrilled). There are also calzones, sandwiches and salads.
Memphis Pizza Cafe. Memphis Pizza Cafe has the most terrible service I've ever encountered here in the Memphis area. It takes nearly 45 minutes to receive your food from the time you order, and gaining a waitress's attention is just out of the question. One evening, someone in our party asked to use their telephone. When he came back to the table, he'd told us that the phone wasn't working properly, and it had dialed the police by mistake. He hung the phone up. Five minutes later, the waitress accused my friend of using their phone to call 9-1-1 on purpose, and from then on it was nothing but attitude from the staff. As an adult, I found it absolutely ridiculous. My reccommendation? Go to Pie in the Sky. They're not some hyped-up over trendy joint like Memphis Pizza Cafe, and they actually care if you come back.
yummie. the pizza is great! thin crispy crust. my favorite is the goat cheese...
