WOREST INDIAN RESTAURANT EVER.
Dont eat here, when you walk in its dirty, once you sit down and look around look above you, the celing looks like theres been a leak and theres mold, not to mention it might fall on you!!! The buffet is horried, I know its an INDIAN restaurant but for got sake LEARN to speak abit of ENGLISH!!! the manager was rude and again didn't understand a word we said, if you dine here, you will regrett it.

Best Memphis Indian.
I got into great Indian food when I lived in England. This is the only restaurant that does it for me in Memphis. Authentic, superb food [note -- never had the lunch buffet, just talking about dinners... usually I don't like any lunch buffets because they don't really spice them]. Very notable is the tandori mixed grill. Golden India serves succulent tandori, too many places dry the food out -- not here!! the Chicken Vindaloo is great if you are in the mood for some hot spice. Location is great, service super ambience intimate and romantic.

Best Indian in Memphis (by far!).
I lived in both New York and Philadelphia for many years and this restaurant stacks up to some of the best Indian restaurants in those big cities. The chicken tikka masala is outstanding as is the malai kofta and the lamb korma. I really enjoy the garlic naan, roti, and all of their vegetarian dishes. Ask for your food cooked "medium heat" and you'll get a nice kick to your meal as well. I think ordering your food fresh as opposed to getting the buffet makes a huge difference to the quality and preparation of the meal as a whole but that is a personal preference. Given the number of ingredients and complexity of the food, this place has great value for the money.
Memphis is not necessarily known for being open to a vareity of ethnic cuisines. We are lucky to have Golden India!

great lunch buffet.
They have great naan {indian bread}. Try the mango lassi, it is like a mango smoothie! Your best bet is the lunch buffet, so you can get the full rice & curry experience, at a reasonable price.
