In the mood for a burger but want a change from the golden arches? Try one of the area's successful, homegrown entrepreneurial efforts at Back Yard Burgers. Though BYB started with drive-through service only, in recent years the company has added casual, in-house dining as well.

The Food
Big, juicy hamburgers come any way you like them. Blackened, lemon and barbecued versions of the tasty chicken breasts are always fresh and flavorful. Fries come waffled or seasoned. The hearty chili is meaty and seasoned with just the right amount of spice. Save room for one of BYB's thick, creamy hand-dipped milkshakes.

The Real Scoop. The reason for such varying reviews is simple. This is a franchise that has seen better days. I've eaten at several Back Yard Burgers and the results have become predictable. In some parts of town, the food is terrific. In others, cold with bad service and a shadow of it's former self.

B-yard burgers is great!. a little chain-y, but well worth it. Much better than Dyers or any of the real fast-food chain places

All around bad food!!!. Back Yard Burger's food in the past few years has went sharply down. A few years ago, they used fresh meat, but now going to the precooked patties, the food is awful.

not at all. It may be under 20 buck, however, fast food should be. The food is good, however, it's a splurg to eat there.

FAST FOOD ... GET OUT OF HERE!. One word, GREAT. The name says it all. Taste like you spent hours in the "Backyard." Expensive for fast food but cheap for a sit-down resturant burger. All burgers are made to order so you may have to wait 5 minutes but well worth the wait.

If you eat in they bring your food to the table on a silver plater. WHAT CLASS.

BYB ROCKS. Everything at BYB is good but i especially like the honey mustard chicken sandwich. Every time i go to memphis i make sure i stop by it is truly the best fast food i have ever had.

Consistently good Burger!. Backyard Burger uses very fresh ingredients and turn out the best fast food hamburger in the Memphis area

Best Burgers in the South!. BackYard Burgers is an awesome place. Their burgers are bigger than any other chain, they use only the best meat (100% Black Angus beef) and their salads are made fresh daily. Their cobblers are also name brand (Mrs. Smith's).
