Great Shows; so-so customer service. I attended The Lion King production at the Orpheum during the summer of 2007. The show was great and the seats were comfortable. The only drawback is a minor one: the staff members were not very friendly. But then, you do not spend much time with the staff.

I intend to return because they have a great selection of shows.

This vaudeville survivor is hailed as the South's finest theater. Enjoy ballet, opera, films and Broadway shows.. The Scene
This ornate performance palace was once a vaudeville venue. The building was built in 1928; in the late 1990s, it was restored to the condition of its gilded glory days.

The Best
The stellar lineup of artists who have performed here over the past century includes John Philip Sousa, Burns and Allen, Tom Petty and Stomp. Today the Orpheum presents Broadway touring shows and presentations by two local performing arts groups, the Ballet Memphis and Opera Memphis.

The Rest
In the summertime, the Orpheum reverts to a movie theater, with big-screen showings of perennial classics like "Gone With the Wind," "Singin' in the Rain" and "The Sound of Music."
