memphian. bb kings voted for the 2nd best venue to see live music in the overall catagory, i proud to be a memphian... then i started to think about the talent that plays at the local club; besides B. B. KING??? i love memphis and i think we have some of the best undiscovered local musical talents in the world but, i think the venue should use this "opportunity" to take it to the next level. it's the same old; "mustang sally", that is played in every other blues club on Beale Street and I know B. B. King and all the other Lengends out there know that there is more to it than that. please don't get me wrong! i love the place and the street and more so, the city but, come on, it's time to give the music fans a little more respect. THEY DESERVE IT!
BB King's rocks....and souls!!. BB King's is a truly fabulous nightclub!! You can't go wrong on Beale Street, but make sure to include this happenin' place for a rock 'n soul experience!! Ruby Wilson is a one-of-a kind lady - She is a crowd pleaser with great style, pizazz and presence!! I was there last fall and was impressed with the young men performing gymnastics during a break (they had just signed a contact with Nike)!!! So, be sure to check out BB King's for a unforgettably good time!
Mediocrity. B.B.s at one time was a showcase for the elite bands traveling on the blues circuit, i.e. Anson Fundeburgh, Coco Montoya, Kenny Neal, Gatemouth Brown, etc. Nowadays, the club seems content in booking the same "house" bands on a regular weekly basis. Which is O.K. if you are just visiting and don't know any better. But if you live here...fughetaboutit. We don't even check the listings anymore because we already know who is playing.
blah. One of many bland beale street venues--probably the best of the commercial blues clubs, which deosn't say much.
true memphis blues. Great food and a close comfortable atmosphere with great music. Time will fly by and you will want to come back for more.
Had A Blast. Went up for a grizzlies game and decided to go to BB Kings to grab something to eat. Went in at 8 pm and left at 3 AM and had a blast all the way through. The entertainment was out of this world. Met people who were there to have a good time and everyone in the club did. The food was pretty good but realatively inexpensive. A GREAT TIME!!!
Really Great Time. I spent Thanksgiving week-end in Memphis at BB Kings and had the best time I have had in years, the food, music, dancing, and atmosphere were great. Thank you BB.
Great Food!. We just went to dinner here - they were shutting down for a few hours for a special event that night so the only thing I can talk about was the food. It was fantastic! The barbeque ribs were very flavorful, the macaroni and cheese and beans tasted like the food I grew up with. The mashed potatoes and onion rings my friend had both needed a little salt, but they were still very tasty. An amusing little prop was the fact that our beer was served in Mason Jars. Our waitress was very friendly and very prompt with everything. I would at least go back for the food!
Mine. very boring, not at all intersting, very unhappy place to be there.
B(est) on B(eale) King's. Prices are reasonable. Food is good. The music is GREAT. Try to catch at least a set from Ruby Wilson -- the woman is off the chain. The band is awesome. BB King's... one of THE places on Beale that you gotta visit.
