Bouncer guy david that stole money!!!!!. Are you talking about the bigger guy David at the door with glasses that asked for our id's? He took my money and 5 of my friends... I (WE) were not aware that we could have gotten our money back since we went for a college alumni night also. we spent tons on food and drinks. That sleze ball needs to be fired. He was drinking on the job several times. I would not think that would be legal nor allowed. It shows more than character about the place. A restraunt can be great but their employees make it or break it. I think Im going to report them to the BBB. It was suppose to be fun and not us to get robbed....... BB

silkys kinda sucks. i went for a college alumni night here which was supposed to mean no cover for alumni. however, upon arriving at the door we were forced to pay a cover charge by a bouncer named david. upon hearing that everyone else did not pay a cover, and considering i had also paid for 2 of my friends, i decided to try to get my 15 dollars back and asked a waitress if she knew why i was charged. she told me that she had heard that the bouncer in question had been doing this all night and that i should talk to the manager. the manager was friendly and quickly reimbursed me so i guess i shouldnt have any complaints but i think this little episode shows something about the character of the place. as a student i remember having a similar problem as well. i guess thats just how it is down on beale street though. other than this problem its a decent, lively bar and a good place to sit outside and have a drink.

Not impressed. My friend and I went to Silky's for St Patrick's Day 2006 and were very disappointed. The place was so packed we couldn't even move-it was impossible to get drinks-and when we finally did, it was minutes before we got bumped into and they were spilled all over. The dueling pianos were boring (and I usually love dueling pianos), and the outside band wasn't too hot either. I've never been when it hasn't been a holiday, but I have heard it gets just as packed then too. YUCK!

Great for a Sunny Saturday. My friend and I were drawn in here by the music and stayed for the shade and the atmosphere. Our service was spotty and we had to seek out a waitress several times but the bartender was constantly there and the patio was worth spending several hours on. The band was very good and the goats were entertaining. Problem with the goats - everyone was feeding them and giving them beer - NOT AT ALL GOOD FOR THEM and there are no signs asking you not too. So, if you enjoy Silky's please do the health of the goats a favor and pet but don't feed!

The Americanized Bourbon Street. The entire ambience of Beale Street is rare for the States. This location benefits from Beale in the same way other pubs benefit from South Street in Philly or Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

Great piano sing alongs and GOATS that drink beer!? Good time..

10 plus. There is nothing better than a group of friends and a Diver...I started going there back in the early 80's when they were in Overton Square....great great time...I have been to the location on Beale Street and the Diver is still as great as always...everybody has to go to Silky's at least once in there life....Have Fun

Lots O' Fun!. I love Silky's! The dueling pianos are great! Makes me feel like I'm at a Ben Folds concert... And they make the BEST bloody mary's! I'm sure the divers are great too, but I've never been brave enough to get that sloshed in public.
