Killer food, and great blues!!!!!!. Gotta try it if u are hanging out on Beale street. The food is great, the drinks are stout, and the music is great.

A great local place that's worth the trip. On a first time trip to Memphis, Kings Palace Cafe caught my eye quickly as I was walking the city streets. In search of a high quality local restaurant, Taking a chance as I judged it on looks alone, boy was I in for a treat. A very diverse cajun menu with specialties in gumbo and etouffee was very hard to choose from, every dish is worth trying. After I took my first bite of shrimp and crawfish, I knew that this was the right place for me! If you enjoy classic cajun cooking and a lively atmosphere, Kings Palace Cafe is a MUST!

Outstanding Ribs!!!. While walking down Beale Street, Tony's trumpet playing drew me and my friends inside, and my taste buds have never been the same!!!!!!! A Complete culinary delight. In Chicago Terms (Some Damn Good Food).

hella GOOD. If you're lost in Memphis and have no where to go, put an end to your search and go check this place out. Had an awesome time, amazing food, service off the chains, music was best in town. Check it out!!

Loved the Vibe.... I loved the vibe here. I'm from out of state but have gone back several times, sometimes more than once per visit to Memphis. Feels just like the old blues bar it is. No famous names & the music takes you where you want to go. I loved the gumbo so last time I took my 85 year old Mom, the gumbo expert, & she loved it, too.

A kind of anti-Hard Rock Cafe, King's is the real thing, an authentic local club serving up good grub and live local music.. The Scene:
Besides its name, there's relatively little palatial about this club. That is, unless you consider the maroon and gold draperies and swags give this nightspot a touch of class not found in other Beale Street spots that have weathered as many years here. As is the case with some of the older, locally owned clubs on Beale Street, one gets the impression that the spot is often overlooked by locals. That's a shame, because in this era of Hard Rock Cafes and Planet Hollywood's, King's Palace is a the real deal, an unpretentious local club where tourists and natives can eat good food and sip a leisurely drink or two in comfortable surroundings. The King's Palace Cafe dining room is spacious and dimly lighted. New Orleans specialties are prominent on the respectable menu. Live jazz and blues is the standard bill of fare by night. Service is welcoming and quite cordial.

Bud by the pitcher.

Try the Beale Street Blues!. We made two stops at the King's Palace the night we were there. The first stop was to grab a quick drink and listen to the band. Our service was terrible on the first stop, but the drink - the Beale Street Blue - was fantastic! After walking around a bit more on Beale Street we headed back for another drink and sat at the bar. Didn't leave for the rest of the night! The band was great, the people were friendly - there was college ball on the tv's - but the best thing about the night? The bartender, Chuck. Not only did he make some incredible drinks, but he was fun, funny and intelligent. Make a pit stop there and meet him if you have time!
