Experience the Official Food of Rock!

  • A Global Phenomenon!
  • Rock 'n' roll memorabilia
  • Love all. Serve all.

As artist Billy Swan sang, Memphis Rocks! Located in the cotton-trading capital, Memphis virtually invented blues, soul and rock 'n' roll. So if you're out Walking In Memphis on the Memphis Streets and you get yourself a mean case of the Walkin' Blues, just do the electric slide or Memphis Boogie right on into the Hard Rock Cafe Memphis & let us ease you into Memphis Bliss. Our historic building, set on boogie street Beale, has done time as a recording studio & a saloon - the perfect combination for an electrifying menu that'll make you stomp & shout. Memphis was also Elvis's home, and the only place he ever felt he belonged. So come on down, y'all, for a taste of Southern hospitality & Good Rockin' Tonight, 'cause you're bound to soon feel the exact same way. And while Elvis may have left the building (on a Memphis Train?), you can stay as long as you want. It's a Memphis Thing

Editorial Review for Hard Rock Cafe – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Walls covered with decades of Top-40 memorabilia, rock songs blaring in the background and an all-American menu typify this music-themed restaurant. The kitchen churns out group-friendly appetizers like nachos and Southern staples like barbecue ribs and chicken. Burgers are served with hefty sides of fries and the signature pulled-pork sandwich is topped with vinegar barbecue sauce. The gift shop sells branded items like T-shirts, shot glasses and hats.

The food was good, but a little overpriced. Of course, you're paying for the atmosphere. The waiter, Greg, was very pushy. We just wanted to sit down and rest and look in the Rock Shop after eating. He told us we could go pick out what we wanted in the Rock Shop and they would just add it to our check. Of course they would add the purchase when they charge a 15% gratuity to your total check, merchandise and food purchase. The waiter gets a fat tip that way. That would have been all right if he had actually gotten the stuff for us, but we didn't know what we wanted so had to look for ourselves. He stood by us in the Rock Shop like we were going to skip out or something, then he carried the bag back into the restaurant where we paid our total check. If you go there, just pay your dinner check, then go shop at your leisure in the Rock Shop and pay for your purchase there. Don't let the waiter/waitress push you into doing it while they watch over your shoulder. We'll know better next time.

This was a good stop if your are into the Hard Rock Cafe experience as a friend of mine was (been to the one in every city he's been to that has one), but it was nothing special. The food was good but overpriced. The service was very prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant, but when in a place like Memphis and on Beale Street you should really try something that isn't a chain and there is plenty of incredible stuff to choose from on Beale Street alone!
