Excellent. After several cake tastings for my daughter's wedding cake, a friend recommended Cakes by Mom and Me. Being from Collierville, we were reluctant to go all the way to West Memphis, AR for a tasting; however, my daughter was very particular about the taste of her wedding cake. It was so well worth the drive!!! Both the wedding cake and groom's cake were absolutely beautiful, but more importantly....absolutely delicious. So good in fact, that when I went to return the cake platter that we had rented from them for the wedding, I called ahead and had them make a birthday cake for my husband (a smaller version of the wedding cake). I highly recommend !!!!…
Sweet Cakes...Sour Service.
I met Pam and Lori at their home for a cake tasting when we were getting married. They were awesome and very customer friendly. We found a diamond in the rough when we found them! Our cake was
absolutely gorgeous...so awesome that my wedding planner started using them exclusively...and she only does high end weddings! I have used them for every birthday cake, shower cake, etc. since then. So, to say I was a loyal customer was putting it mildly.
Apparently they got big enough they were able to get out of their quaint kitchen and open their own space...I was so excited for them. However, the reason for the one star is the fact they have completely lost sight of how to treat people. This last year, they misspelled my daughter's name on her birthday cake and acted like it was no big deal! They were totally rude about the whole thing and acted like they were doing me a favor by making the cake when I had been on their list since the prior year! My sister in law gave them a deposit for a wedding cake and called off the wedding. She is since engaged again and I just called to see if there was anything they could do with that deposit or if it could be applied to a future order. I was told the deposit was non refundable which is totally fine...it was the way she spoke to me that was so disturbing. I have been a loyal customer for years and through me they have received a ton of business and yet she felt the need to treat me like I was annoying her by even calling or asking. Even if that is the policy, there are ways you talk to people!!! I am in sales and if I treated my customers the way they treated theirs...I would not have any left.
I called up my friend who has also used them so much and she told me her experience has been the same. They act like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to eat their pricy cakes. It is just so unfortunate that such a delicious cake is soured by such poor service.
Pam and Lori...you are not the only gig in town and you seriously need to learn how to talk to people.…
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My experience with this company cakes by mom and me has been the worst of a life time. I stayed on a waiting list for three months and finally when i was able to speak with someone lori the daughter was awesome she fit right in with my budget and i was pleased up until i received a confirmation email of what cake would be done for my sons bday party. There was a total of three pics sent in to see which one could be done. Two of them were bust (chest up cakes) and one was just a head of venom the black spiderman basically. she sent me an email saying she could do the spiderman "bust" so i assume she meant the one i sent her that had a pic of the red spiderman busting through the black spiderman kind of a good verses evil cake. well when i emailed to confirm i never received an answer back. one week before my sons party i finally am able to contact and i get the glorious pam and she was initially rude sound exhausted and over work but not the consumer fought at all. i explained to her what i thought and she didnt have any of the proper paperwork even though it was done through email and decided to charge me extra for the good verses evil. when contacting my husband to explain he called pam and she got extremely upset saying "you people have already contacted me twice" she said if we cant afford the extra charge then we cant afford her cakes anyway and that we were questioning her tactics and she was removing us from the list because she has too many cakes to make anyway. 1, She never wanted to make the cake any way if it was that easy to make a consumer wait three months then take them off the list. 2. i guess $130.00 was not enough money for her to waste her time on a "childs cake" and 3. she must have enough business that our little money didnt matter. So my question is what makes her cakes so good that people will put up with horrible customer service. Oh did i forget to mention she told me to hush and let her talk. the nerve of that lady..…
Weloved our wedding cake!. We just ate the top tier of our wedding cake from a year ago. It wasn't dry like people told us it would be; it was just as delicious as it was on our wedding day! We actually ran out of cake at our wedding, even though we ordered more than the wedding planners recommended, because it was so delicious (and everyone made sure to let us know)! Our wedding planners said this was the first time they had ever seen that happen. My boss told me he doesn't even like cake, but he had two pieces! I definitely recommend Cakes by Mom and Me to anyone that asked.…
