This casino-hotel-concert hall and blues museum sings a siren song for extroverts looking for nonstop action..
The Scene
With some 1,400 slot machines, as well as table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, and Caribbean stud poker, the Horseshoe draws gamblers of every stripe. Like the many other casinos that have sprung up along the Mississippi Delta in Tunica, Mississippi, just south of downtown Memphis and the Tennessee state line, the Horseshoe also offers a 14-story hotel. It has 311 luxury suites and 194 rooms, along with the usual assortment of restaurants, including Jack Binion's Steak House, and your basic, 24-hour-a-day buffet lines. An added attraction at Horseshoe is its Blues and Legends Hall of Fame Museum, a 5,000-square-foot gallery of blues memorabilia and artifacts. Perhaps best of all (at least for high rollers who've gone bust), the attraction is free of charge. Elsewhere at Horseshoe, top national headliners and oldies music acts play regularly at the Bluesville Showcase Nightclub
