Great affordable Downtown Restaurant.. This restaurant is now known as the Kooky Canuck as it has recently went through a name change. This is a fun place, great atmosphere, great drinks, and a great location. The food here is not extravagant, but they have some unique menu items that make it a different enough place to be interesting. The bulk of the menu is made up of sandwich selections, but there are some pretty interesting ones, such as the fried ham and cheese. They also have stuff like bratwurst and meatloaf sandwiches. The appetizer list is very good and I would recommend their BBQ nachos if you were getting one. They over some interesting side items such as cheesy corn, and my personal favorite, Sweet Potato French Fries. I can't recommend this enough, they are the best in town. They have a good selection of beers on tap at affordable prices, so its a good place to get warmed up for a night on Beale, or before a movie at the Peabody. The best thing about this place is the good quality of food combined with the very affordable price tag. It is a pretty noisy place so its not your romantic date type of place. Unless noisy, hunting lodges is your idea of romantic.

Where else can you get s'mores for dessert??. I love Big Foot Lodge! The food is really yummy and it has a fun "lodgey" atmosphere. The menu is pretty big so there's plenty to choose from. Prices are extremely reasonable. My only complaint is that the two times I've been there the service has been sort of slow. On one occasion we had been seated for 10 minutes before our waiter came to take our drink orders. On the other occasion we could see the beers we'd ordered sitting on the bar for about 5 minutes before the waiter brought them to us. That same time I ordered an appetizer which was never brought to us. Our waiter brought out our entrees and when I asked about the fried pickles he said, "You never got them?" On the plus side, he brought us a free order of s'mores for dessert. The s'mores are SO delicious and fun to make! You toast the marshmallows right there at the table! Overall, I really like Big Foot. Just be prepared for slow service when it's busy.

Great food and service - and fun to boot!. This is a neat restaurant located downtown near Beale St. and other attractions. Our friends introduced us to this place and we chatted with the owner for a few minutes over dinner. They have great American fare with a southern slant ? burgers, fried dill pickles, sandwiches, etc. but they also have prime rib, surf & turf and lobster. The food is excellent ? I had the prime rib. It was very tasty and not overcooked. Others at my table had a burger, fish ?n chips and the BBQ nachos ? all were excellent.

The atmosphere is like a mountain lodge with trophy animals displayed on the walls. There is a juke box with thousands of songs, a great bar and very friendly and helpful wait staff.

Great casual dining spot for downtown ? has items that the kids will enjoy as well as an entree that the adults can enjoy as well.
