The Black Lodge is a well run well thought out video and dvd rental establishment where you can find simply any movie you are looking for. This is not Blockbuster where four shelves are filled with the latest Hollywood Michael Bay film and the 16 year old behind the counter doesn't want to help you because he's on the phone talking about the latest DnD. No no. This is actually an establishment where you are able rent REAL movies, independant movies, films that you swore you would never see again. The Black Lodge was able to hook me up with a DVD that I had no idea even existed on DVD, a movie that I have not seen since my dad recorded on Beta when I was ten years old. Inside it is cozy and decorated in such a way that would make anyone immediately feel comfortable upon walking through the door. No neon madness! You will not have to wear sunglasses to enter! The Black Lodge is named after the epic tale Twin Peaks by David Lynch. Located on Cooper Street close to Palmer Realty, David would be proud. The owner of the Black Lodge, Bryan Hogue, will help you with any questions you have and more, just don't ask him if a movie is "good." That is for you to decide! Happy renting!

You will get an honest opinion over at Black Lodge, so go ahead and ask. These are some of the best video recommendations you're ever going to get. Once I went in and described the day I had at work (bad) and received a list of movies specifically balanced to counteract it. Yeah. They know exactly what they're doing. Don't be afraid if you are not a Midtowner or if you are coming from work in your business clothes. The staff will not make fun of you for renting mainstream movies, I promise. These are regular people who just love movies and humorously labeled canned goods. My husband and I love movies and have not yet given into NetFlix -- Black Lodge is our answer. It's one of the last really cool places. Support it!
